│ │The first website I fully "built" was an ugly and slow Wix website that│ │
│ │ I customized from a template. The site, which was for an FPV racing │ │
│ │club that I founded in high school, was meant to spread awareness about│ │
│ │the club and help provide information to students who were curious, and│ │
│ │ it failed at both. I didn't have enough information to fill the │ │
│ │website, and I used huge 4K videos instead of scaling images and videos│ │
│ │ to load faster. It was fun to make, but this is for sure the website │ │
│ │ I'm least proud of. │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │ [Wix FPV Site →] │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │Next, after a four-year hiatus from making any sites, I started coding │ │
│ │ [drewwy.web.app →] The Drewwy web app │ │
│ │ runs locally on my computer, and was my first attempt at a website │ │
│ │where I was the subject. i *hate* this site now—i don't know what i was│ │
│ │ thinking. All the jokes are stupid and it hardly gives you any │ │
│ │information about me. I made it completely in HTML, and the only reason│ │
│ │I still tolerate its existence is the fact that I built it with my own │ │
│ │hands. If I hadn't put so much time into it, I would’ve already erased │ │
│ │ it from the internet. │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │After that, I made terminalfm.org, which no longer has an active link. │ │
│ │ Terminal FM was a project I started working on to use a wide pirate │ │
│ │ radio network and "node" like repeaters to have a stable FM radio │ │
│ │ station where people around El Paso and Las Cruces could find out │ │
│ │ information about ICE, local politics, community impacts, state │ │
│ │ spending, and other public information meant to keep our community │ │
│ │ safe. Unfortunately, due to the hefty budget of this project, it has │ │
│ │not come to fruition just yet, but I continue to work on it with other │ │
│ │ students in El Paso and Las Cruces. │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │ About three months ago, I made Drewwy.com V1. Fully ASCII, and │ │
│ │ sometimes hard to read and glitchy, drewwy.com was the first site I │ │
│ │ made that I was very proud of. I still only used HTML, but I started │ │
│ │ adding cool effects and hover animations! Unfortunately, I used the │ │
│ │ same Neocities account and domain to make my current site, and almost │ │
│ │ all evidence that V1 existed is erased. │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │Finally, **THIS SITE** (wow)! As I was making drewwy.com v1, I started │ │
│ │getting more and more into how to add animations and effects, and this │ │
│ │ version is the culmination of that obsession. This is version four of │ │
│ │ drewwy.com, and for the first time, I've poured way more time and │ │
│ │ energy into it than any of its predecessors. The ghost cursor that │ │
│ │ follows you around, the elastic hover states on every text block, the │ │
│ │way the ASCII portrait sits perfectly balanced on the page—I've stopped│ │
│ │ treating my website like a throwaway project and started treating it │ │
│ │like a *place*. A place on the internet that actually feels like me: a │ │
│ │ little weird, a little nostalgic, and completely unapologetic about │ │
│ │ being neither polished nor professional. │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │ Every now and then I forget this site exists, rediscover it, feel bad │ │
│ │about how it looks, delete it, and start over. But this time? This time│ │
│ │ I think it'll stick around. At least until I learn something new that │ │
│ │ makes me want to burn it all down and build version five. │ │
│ │ │ │
